Management Accounts Made Easy

Quality management information is one of the keys to business success – and until now, you might have thought you needed a specialist from outside your organisation to carry out this task for you. However, with the help of this course, you can easily compile and analyse management information yourself. Then you’ll be able to streamline your business thereby saving money and enhancing your overall performance.

This program has been created by our accountancy experts and is specifically designed to give you the skills required to prepare management accounts for your business. All the examples used during the course will be based on manual bookkeeping rather than a computerised system as this provides the best way of knowing the transactions that are being processed by the computer without you actually being aware of them. This will give you the knowledge required to follow what the computer package is doing and how to correct things should they go wrong.

The detailed areas covered by the course are as follows:

Day One – The course starts with an introduction to double entry bookkeeping. This is the foundation on which all accounting information is based and it is crucial that you understand this concept before we move onto looking at the actual accounting records and management accounts.
Day Two – we then build on day one by looking at the sales and purchase ledgers and day books and cash books and bank reconciliations and how these form the basic information from which the management accounts are produced.
Day Three – we look at the additional information required to produce the management accounts and look at journals, accruals and prepayments and fixed assets and depreciation and how these figures are calculated and why these adjustments are required to the basic accounting information contained in the day books.
Day Four – we take the primary information for an example company and work through information provided to produce one month’s management information. You will then be required to complete a second month in your own time. This will be assessed and returned to you.
Day Five – in the morning we take a look at payroll and what is required to prepare a payroll. In the afternoon we move onto looking at VAT and the requirements for accounting for VAT.

At the conclusion of the course you will be able to produce meaningful management accounts for your business. We provided full course notes for you to take away to act as an aid-memoir in the future. As well as the case study which we complete in day four, there are many other practical worked examples in each of the sessions. These are all designed to draw on the concepts covered in each session and will also draw on concepts covered in earlier sessions in order to emphasis the interrelation between the individual areas covered.

The course, plus all materials required, costs just £245.00 plus VAT. In order to guarantee a place we ask for a deposit of £100.00 to be paid when booking and the balance is payable 14 days before the course commences.
