It is essential that all Company Accounts and Annual returns are filed on time as Companies House is currently taking an aggressive approach as regards to late filing. Every Company needs to file an Annual Return by the due date. Companies House is currently taking a very aggressive approach in respect of the filing deadline of annual returns. There are also penalties for late filing of Company accounts that increase to £1,500 when more than six months late for a private Company. The penalties will be doubled if a Company files its accounts late in 2 successive financial years . It is also important to note , that in addition , failure to file accounts or annual returns is a criminal offence which can result in directors being fined personally in the criminal courts It is therefore essential that , as a result , you should ensure that all Returns and Accounts are filed on time.
